Built by a teacher who saw the gap
Lyrics2Learn was created by Jeremy Spartz, a former classroom teacher. He built the music-based reading program to give students fluency practice they would actually want to repeat, and to give educators a clear view of progress.
The approach pairs educational text, music, rhythm and rhyme with repeated, assisted and choral reading. Students use leveled tracks independently or under teacher direction, while educators see fluency and comprehension progress.
A 2018 published evaluation by Germeroth, Kelleman and Spartz reported 66% higher year-over-year gains than a control group.
